As much as I have cherished this book in the past six months or so, I have found that it doesn’t lend itself to short excerpts (I would encourage you to buy it and read the whole thing). I was of course recently reminded that someone may need to hear just these words at this time. 
The other day I ran into Tom at Zen Center, and he said he was about to give a talk based on the book, which made me happy.
