Michael Stone

‘There are no hermetically sealed practices or cultures. Now that cultures are flowing into and out of one another at a dramatic pace, there is nothing more radical than being silent. Stay at home for a while. Sit under trees. Serve. Study. The whole idea of what it means to be a person is radically challenged by these practices. Through meditation practice we cultivate a specific quality of awareness – it is nonjudgmental, and it has a quieting effect on the inner body.’ (Awake in the World)

I notice that some posts I chose before the election now seem that they are lacking something, though knowing Michael, I doubt he is just sitting back passively, and I trust that he is finding a way to serve.
