Chan Master Sheng Yen

‘Every moment that makes up our life is a mere process of experiencing. (There Is No Suffering)

I was re-reading Chan Master Sheng Yen’s commentary on the Heart Sutra, and this line jumped out at me. More specifically, the use of the word ‘mere’. He points out that our brain processing always misses the present moment because of the time it takes; all we can really do in the moment is experience. Nothing added. See also Monday’s post.
