‘Remember that turning your wholehearted attention to this text, or to whatever you happen to be doing, can be of benefit to every being–even if it’s not obvious how. This may seem like a strange idea-or a very familiar one-but it is essential to the Buddhist tradition. Our study of the Dharma, and our practice of giving ourselves to each moment, should always be done with the intention to somehow lift the overall well-being of the world.’ (Inside the Grass Hut)
I always enjoy popping into the library at Tassajara and taking out a few books to dip into during my stay. It turned out that the three works I chose were all ones I had taken out at least once before – according to the library cards, which I love looking over to see who has taken out those books. It was great to go through this book again.
