We have officiallly tipped into spring, and while it was nice to have warm weather and, briefly, a ten-day forecast which had no sign of rain, things still seem a little changeable; I have postponed Friday’s roam a week (even if it might also be raining next Friday) – at least Sunday will be clear for the other one I have scheduled.
I gave myself a weekend off roaming last weekend, hoping to have a little more unstructured time than I usually get, and then I ended up helping at the Spring Wellness Fair at the Mukunda studio, another chance to join in this thoughful and nurturing community.
I have been pretty productive, sourcing bike parts for myself, and then, when there was not more procrastinating I could do, filing my taxes. Thankfully this year, the amount I owe was just a little more than the number I had in my head; sure, it will eat a big chunk of my savings, but at least I can go to England and know that I can still pay the rent when I get back.
And with that big hurdle out of the way, I can see my way clear to planning the talks I will be giving at Hebden Bridge – this time I will speak on both the Friday evening and the Saturday during the sit – and York on the Sunday.
There are also a number of things lined up for when I get back, which I am starting to gather thoughts for: the first weekend of May I will be helping my Core colleague Jen with a wellness retreat up in Sonoma, offering a mindful hike. The weekend after, we are plotting an online hiking retreat for Zen Center. There is also the retreat I will be leading at Green Gulch at the end of June.
I am wondering when I will actually get back to some level of fitness on my bike, but at least I will be pretty active over the next few months – we have some walking plans in various locations we are visiting in England as well.
