Getting Things Done

I’m counting down the days until our trip (nine by the time you read this), and when I have been sitting this week, the list of things I need to do feels like an amorphous cloud. It’s not that I am anxious about it, especially as I got through many of my to-dos early this week. This blog had about forty posts stock-piled for the next few weeks by the time I was done, and I had several Patreon posts lined up as well.

It helped that it was an international football week, so I spent way less time keeping an eye on matches than I would have. Additionally I still don’t have my road bike up and running – the wheel needed new bearings special-ordered – so  I haven’t spent many hours riding. Between the months of wet weather and the last couple of weeks of just riding my fixed gear, I feel horribly out of shape.

I have two roams lined up this weekend, and they might both be wet ones; I just can’t be postponing them again. We will likely get wetter today than we would have if we had gone ahead last Friday, as the rain barely left a trace that time, though it has passed through several times since then.

The sun has felt warm when it has been out – but the wind has been chilly. Perhaps, once we are back at the end of April, there will be a stretch of good weather and I can start to get my legs back.

Fruitvale Bridge on Thursday morning. It had been sunny in the city on the way to the ferry, so I was alarmed to see these dark clouds, but in the end, they seemed to be moving away.
