First Rainbows

It seemed that the transition between our last heatwave and winter was quite short this year. After a warmish and sunny weekend, this week we had some passing showers. On Thursday the mixed weather brought several rainbows that I saw. Last night we turned the heating on in our apartment for the first time, as we had got cold spending time at home in the afternoon.

In the morning I gave a short talk to a group in Hebden Bridge, who had been studying The World Could Be Otherwise this year. I listened back to the talks I gave while I was over in the UK this spring, which were centered on the paramitas, and re-read chunks of the book. I had some notions of what I wanted to say, and I am not sure it came our coherently – I will listen back to the talk and post it if it does seem to hold together.

This week has felt quite spacious; I am still adjusting to having my Saturday mornings free, and I have caught up on some back-logged work. There are plenty of roams on the calendar, some of which have more people signed up for than has been the case in recent months, so I hope the rain mostly holds off.

I was unsuccessful in my attempts to get all the rainbow in one shot.
