Sekkei Harada

‘The deluding passions arise by means of either body, mind, or mouth. When we do zazen, the karma of these three is purified. In other words, zazen is the posture of having done repentence. That is why it is said that while we are doing zazen, there is no way for the deluding passions to arise. For this reason some roshis teach that the posture of zazen itself is enlightenment so that just to sit is enough. Or they say that it is a mistake to forget the self.’ (Talks)
