The end of last week felt very full: in addition to my usual Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday sessions, I had the meditation at Alchemy Springs on Wednesday evening, and the Zen Center online group on Thursday after work.
On Friday morning, within the space of an hour, we picked up our marriage licence at City Hall, then went to my credit union where I got the largest cheque I have probably ever had written, which we then sent out from the post office next door. In the afternoon I had a roam – once again a lovely group of mostly regulars – and in the evening we walked down to Columbus Ave for a dinner to celebrate two years together (a couple of days early, as Ruth wouldn’t be here on the day itself).

Saturday was bright and warm; I was out early to pick up a rental car, with which I took Ruth to the airport for her quick trip to Florida, and continued down to Woodside for a wedding at the same venue I had been at two months previously. This was all delightful, but I was very glad to have dropped off the car, and picked up some groceries by early afternoon so I could relax with the football.

Sunday was a glorious day – sunny and windless. I finally got to enjoy a ride, up San Bruno Mountain for the first time in many months without fog and wind, and continued to get ready for our guests who are coming to stay.

I got to ride on Monday as well – I am trying to squeeze in rides when I can as I will have three weekends without any – though it was a mixed day. Ruth came back with her mother, who stayed over, sleeping on the couch.
It has been hard getting back to work in the midst of all this, but we will keep going and hope that we do get to enjoy the celebration and our honeymoon.
