There are some weeks when I don’t really feel like writing, and last week was one of them. Perhaps I was still processing the news about the Tassajara Zendo – I spoke about it at the Zen Center Thursday online group, where, even if many of the attendees hadn’t been to Tassajara, they would have at least ahd some context for it.
It was also one of those weeks where I had extra work to do, and it felt like I couldn’t really relax at all for several days. Rain moved through again, though it was midweek, and we had glorious warm and sunny weekends before and after. My taxes loomed ever closer on the horizon (even though I had done most of the work and owed about the usual amount). Certainly my mood was pretty low in there.
This week has been a little lighter, though this time the rain is coming on the days when I tend to be outside: no ride on Friday morning, though the afternoon roam was dry until the very end, as promised by the forecast. I might be able to ride on Saturday morning (I am not counting on it), and Sunday morning looks right out.
This means I will have a chance to catch up on other things – emails for the Gen X teachers’ gathering; some sewing (I had to redo a portion of my okesa after it was pinned wrong – something that didn’t add to my mood when I realised it); more plans for our trip to England; preparing for my class that starts in a couple of weeks (I have done some reading, but haven’t structured what I am going to say yet).
