Shundo David Haye – Zen Priest

Once a monk asked Master Yaoshan, “How can I avoid being confused by all kinds of outside appearances?”
 The master said, “Just leave them alone and they won't bother you.”
 The monk was unsatisfied with this. 
The master asked, “What 'outside appearances' are confusing you right now?”

When we are here, nothing comes from outside.
