Suzuki Roshi

‘We help people just because we wish to, not because we think we will be successful. Sentient beings are numberless, so we don’t know if we can completely help all sentient beings. Yet it doesn’t matter. As long as we are here, we should continue our practice of helping beings.’ (Not Always So)

I found this quote a few weeks ago. It was a helpful one for my first talk in San Rafael (which I have posted here). My second in the series on the Bodhisattva Vows is next Monday, 7th.
