The Diamond Sutra

‘Therefore then, Subhuti, the Bodhisattva, the great being, should produce an unsupported thought, i.e. a thought which is nowhere supported, a thought unsupported by sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touchables or mind-objects.’

I have been pondering a little what to say in my upcoming dharma talks, and this phrase came to mind. It touches on the Paramitas, especially the perfection of generosity, where we often talk about giving with no thought or expectation of return. I might talk about love in the same way, though I am still figuring out how best to express that.
